CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL FOR REQUIREMENTS ENGINEERING CPRE
The Nature of the Work of a Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering CPRE
The work of a Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering CPRE can be very demanding. Requirements engineering can be complex because of the need to marry the three roles involved in eliciting every requirement:
- The requestor. This is most often the end user who understands what is needed to solve the problem, but not how to develop a system.
- The developer. The developer knows the tools and techniques needed to design and implement the system, but doesn’t always understand the need for a solution.
- The author. The author needs to document a requirement that communicates clearly what the user desires from the developer.
The complexity of the task of the requirements engineer is further compounded by the number and diversity of end users.
