CBAP
Steps to Follow to Become a CBAP
While the IIBA outlines the criteria needed to apply for CBAP certification, they don’t prescribe the path you should take to meet them. Here are some guidelines you should follow:
- Study the BABOK. The right place to start is by understanding the content of the BABOK. This will give you an appreciation of the knowledge, techniques and methodologies you need to apply while practicing your profession. This process can be enhanced by joining a study group hosted by your local chapter of the IIBA.
- Keep a record of your practical experience in business analysis. Keep a log of the hours you’ve worked that give you the relevant experience to qualify. If possible, get your manager or CBAP mentor to sign it off as a way of authentication.
- Attend courses in business analysis to earn the necessary professional development hours. Ensure that you sign up for courses via IIBA approved training providers.
