IIBA Business Analysis Guidelines for Requirements Elicitation, Analysis and Management
Escent follows the guidelines for business analysis outlined by the IIBA during the process of requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation and management. This process requires excellent communication skills in order to precisely define and document the requirements for the project.
Requirements elicitation is much more than straightforward information gathering. It often includes interviews with stakeholders, brainstorming sessions, workshops and prototyping.
Requirements analysis involves communication with system users to resolve any conflict or ambiguity in specific feature expectations. The culmination of this phase of the project should result in requirements documentation that forms the basis for requirements management.
Requirements management needs effective communication with stakeholders and team members to ensure that requirements are met. It is an ongoing process that often demands communication of requirement changes as the project progresses.
