What Is the Role of a Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering CPRE?

A Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE) is a certification that is governed by the International Requirements Engineering Board based in Germany. Someone with this qualification is called a Requirements Engineer. Escent is recognized by the IREB as a leading training provider for certification.

Requirements engineering is often part of the responsibilities of an IT Business Analyst, but as a dedicated role, a requirements engineer fits somewhere between a business analyst and a systems analyst. A requirements engineer is tasked with working with the project stakeholders and end users to elicit, analyze and document the requirements for a system to solve a business problem.
